One of the biggest things Neal dreaded after surgery was sneezing. He knew with coughing being so painful, that sneezing would be terrible.
It may sound silly to some, but we asked people to pray that he wouldn't sneeze until it would be less painful. We had several people praying, but one person in particular we know has been praying faithfully about this -- Pam Burket. Thank you, Pam!!!
Neal sneezed tonight at 11:30 pm...six and a half weeks post surgery! The kids and I were here in the study, and Neal was on the couch two rooms away. We heard the sneeze, and at first it didn't click with me what I'd heard, then Neal said "I sneezed!" We all went rushing into the living room, and there he sat grinning. He said it wasn't too bad...kind of like a cough.
"Thank you, Lord, for holding off his sneeze until he could handle it without too much pain!"

I'm glad that he got that over with and hope he doesn't have more! It's wonderful how God provides. BTW, I should have told you this earlier, but there is a nerve under the nose that you can put pressure on to stop sneezing. Now if you are swirling in pollen your body might keep trying but generally this works and I have had to do it in church a bit. Put your index finger horizontally across under the nose (between it and lip), applying pressure. It might come in handy! :o) I'm sure the prayers were the best preventer of all though!
