Food For Thought

(I did not write this, it was forwarded by a friend.)

Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read "Vote Obama, I need the money." I laughed.

Once in the restaurant my server had on a "Obama 08" tie, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference -- just imagine the coincidence.

When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need--the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.

I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I've decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful.

At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient deserved money more.

I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in
concept than in practical application.

Also, employers could announce the consideration of employee raises, then withhold those raises and give the proceeds to a worthy cause, preferably one involving non-workers ... PRICELESS!

President Who??

Okay, here's one more quiz to take to see who would be a good match for you for President. I actually liked this one better than the one I did the other day. Both times though, my best match was Huckabee. I guess it's a good thing I like him! :o)

Speaking of Huckabee, I am very impressed with the way he handles criticism. It seems all of the candidates are into bashing another candidate, but that's not his way. He says the candidates should be telling what they can do for America. I agree! It gets very tiresome hearing all the candidate bashing!

If you live in Virginia, make sure you are registered to vote! Monday, January 14th is the last day to register to vote in the primary.

President ???

For those of you who are just totally confused by the presidential candidates and what they stand for, check out this site. It asks you about 15 questions and then tries to match you with the presidential candidate that most closely agrees with your positions.

Duh...

I hate it when I myspel words or names, and I really did a doozy this time. (side note: did you know that doozy is not a word. I know because we play Scrabble last night and I looked it up. It's not a word!) Anyway, I did a doozy. I announced a couple of days ago on my blog that Neal and I are supporting "Mike." (BTW -- I was quite disappointed that the news channels didn't carry the story that the "B" family has come out in support of Mike Huckabee. They told that Jerry Falwell, Jr. was supporting him. Hmmpff (don't know how to spell that one either). Anyway, I digress. The other day I misspelled Huckabee. I actually misspelled it today on Andi's blog, too. Embarrassing! It is not Huckaby...it is Huckabee. So don't vote for Mike Huckaby. Vote for Mike Huckabee. :o)

(Edit: I misspelled misspelled when I wrote this. I would also like to know why when I did my spell check that they gave me the option of the word Gospel for myspel. Huh???)

I Like Mike!

Less than a year until we have to choose a new President. Yikes! Well, Neal and I have finally decided on who we would like to see be our Republican candidate. There are others that would be good choices, as well, but Mike Huckaby is our favorite.

I was looking at Jenny's blog tonight and found this clip and it just added to my reasons why "I Like Mike."

For those of you who've watched the movie "Tombstone," here's my slogan for Mike:
