Day 2, Part 2 ;o)

We're still seeing improvement! Praise God! He's still on oxygen and still has the external pacemaker. This morning Dr. M said there was still hope that he could get off the pacemaker, so let's keep praying!

I had a nice, romantic lunch with Neal today. lol He was sitting up in the only chair in the room, so they brought me a chair and I sat across the tray from him. He ate some of his lunch, and I ate my sandwich. We've decided that he's gotten spoiled with home cooking every night and is having trouble eating the hospital food! He does eat what he can though, and seems to choose the healthiest parts of the meal -- salad, fruit and veggies. They may not taste too good, but there should be some nutritional value in them. I took him a homemade blueberry/strawberry muffin this morning and he enjoyed that. He won't eat the white bread they're serving him. ;o)

They can't move him away from ICU yet, but they want to move him to a different ICU unit: Coronary Care Unit (CCU). So far no beds are available, so he'll stay where he is for now.

The kids are doing well. Beth is spending the night with a friend, and Ben is here with me right now. He'll go home with one of his grandparents tonight.

Neal has asked me to stay with him at night now, so I guess this will be my home for a while. I guess I'll try to go home during the day some.

Oh, I went to the caregiver class this morning and found it very helpful. They have a great support system here for cardiac patient's families. This hospital, btw, is in the top 100 cardiac hospitals in the country, and it has been for four years! We feel very confident that we couldn't be in a better hospital!

So glad to hear the good news. Tell him we love the "dress and mustache" and he needs to get well quickly as they (S,S,& C) are saving up lots of "family love" for him :)

Love to all.

I'm so glad that he's in a good hospital and that you're able to spend the night with him. That is a tremendous blessing!

And being spoiled is a good thing. At least he doesn't like the hospital food better than what you cook! LOL
