Day One of Recovery

Pacemaker is still on. They are changing some medicines hoping that will help his to start beating properly on its' own.

After they removed the ventilator tube last night his oxygen level dropped (not right away, but probably within the hour). So they had to give him an oxygen mask-type thing (can you tell I never went to medical school?). They said this is due to having to increase his blood pressure medication. They hope to correct this today.

Those are our two main prayer requests today, along with pain relief as he gets up walking today.

Beth and I got home around 8:45 this morning, and now we're both going to try and sleep for a couple of hours and then go back.

Neal has requested not to have visits outside of family today. He's really just not up to it. However, if anyone wants to stop by the waiting room to visit with us you are more than welcome!!! Beth and I will probably be back over there by 1:00.

Thank you again to all of you for your prayers, visits and calls. They mean to the world to us and so do you!!!

Praise the Lord Teresa and we are still praying. I am home today but continually lifting you all up. Your blog was such an encouragement, what great faith! May God continue to bless you all.
Love, April Haag

Thank you Lord for pacemakers and modern technology. Man thinks he is so clever, but I think these are also gifts from God. Praying still that his heart will take over on its own. I imagine that Neal is exhausted and in pain from where they cut his sternum. Remember to take care of you too, so that you can give Neal the best support and care. We love you and we are praying!

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
