Visit

When the nurse came back to get us, she said the kids had to be 14 or older to go back. My kids were devastated! She then told me to go back first and then judge for myself whether or not the kids could handle seeing him. So I went back along with Neal's parents, sisters, and our friend Gary Lawhorne. He really looked good considering what all he had been through! He was a little puffy, he had in all kinds of tubes running out of him, and he was asleep. The ventilator was doing his breathing for him. But he looked much better than I had expected.

I went back and told the kids they could go see their daddy. They were SO happy! I was so proud of them. They handled it really well, and were just so relieved to see him. It would have been much more traumatic for them not to see him. I appreciated the nurse's concern though.

I'll hang around here this evening until he wakes up and comes off of the ventilator. Then I'll go home and get a good night's sleep! My waterbed is calling my name right now!

I'm so glad the kids got to go see him. I know they will sleep better, too.

I'm praising God with you for how well it went. So glad the kids got to see him. It's important. Continuing to pray!
